Since Mums net is anon I don't feel cheeky asking this lol! How much did your wedding cost? What was it like?

My sister's cost around £23,000 not including honeymoon
And my friends cost around £28,000 again not including honeymoon. .

Just being nosey and getting ideas for money saving etc

I’m getting married in November & ours will cost just under 15k, honeymoon will be another 5k on top.
We definitely wouldn’t be spending that much but parents have insisted on footing the bill for about half of it, which was our original budget for the whole thing!
It does sound like a crazy amount, but that is for everything. This includes our wedding rings, our hotel room for a few nights, our cake, all the little extra bits like printing the place cards, invites & table plans, our full outfits, shoes and accessories, bridesmaids dresses and accessories, hair and make up etc etc.
The reception is at a lovely venue with excellent food which was important to us. We’re having 80 guests, canapes and a few initial drinks included, three course meal with wine and an evening buffet.

And a band! That was a bit of a splurge!

We are planning to spend roughly no more than £1500. Everyone is different.

I've got 3 potential dresses and one of them is £17:99 from new look.

HereForAdvice2019 · 06/07/2019 23:51

£900 plus rings.
Wanted simple. Registry office, drinks at a bar after.. That's Inc flowers, photography, hair, make up, 3 bridemaid dresses and shoes. My dress shoes and accessories. Hair accessories for girls. Sons outfit.
(dp already had a suit) and the mens ties.

We've just got married. Cost us just under £700. That's includes dress, new clothes for all the males ( 2 adults 2 children) and bridesmaid bouquets I made ( they just wore pretty dresse they already had). We had a meal afterwards for close family and friends. Everyone paid for themselves- they knew we couldn't afford to treat everyone and we were all honest with each other.
A couple of days later we celebrated with our friends as part of my birthday celebration.

My best friends did the DJing, wedding buffet ( I paid £90 to supplier of pasties) gifted my bridal bouquet and bought wedding cake and decorated the venue for us. This must have cost them alot. A friend took some amazing photos as did my teen stepdaughter. We have photos in locations that most people would be very envious of ( think Poldark)

We will always be grateful to them. We couldn't have married without them organising this.

Financial stability and being married were more important to us than fancy cars, lavish receptions etc.

It was organised in 5 weeks and everyone has commented how amazing it was.

If anyone wants to do their own flowers it's a massive money saver.

Pipandmum · 14/07/2019 21:29

I didn’t pay, my dad gave me £10k and my husband paid the rest. I would estimate about £35k. Not including the honeymoon.
Wedding and reception in central London for 120, drinks and canapés, four course meal, tribute band, open bar. It was fab but I’d never want to do it on that scale again!

Tonks101 · 14/07/2019 21:35

Ours is about £22k for 80 day guests and 110 evening guests.

Church ceremony followed by reception at a country club/golf resort type place.

Honeymoon about £5k on top of that

BuffaloCauliflower · 14/07/2019 21:40

We’re in the final throws and I think it’ll come in around £21k once we’re all done, with another £4.5k ish for honeymoon.
100 guests, church and marquee in a field type thing. Biggest single cost is the food, we’re buying all the booze and everyone is for the whole day no separate evening guests.

butterflywings37 · 14/07/2019 21:42

About £7500 all in.

Honeymoon 3k

NeverTwerkNaked · 14/07/2019 21:56

This summer -£4000. We had plenty more in savings but it's only one day, we just wanted all our favourite people together for a big party.

My dress only cost £120, shoes £15 from TK maxx and jewellery borrowed from a friend.

We paid for a photo booth which was great fun and then friends and family shared their photos with us too .

We had a wonderful day and so many happy memories

NeverTwerkNaked · 14/07/2019 22:01

We didn't have any flowers except a little bouquet for the flower girl. No one even commented and I certainly didn't notice, I was too busy enjoying seeing all our family and friends!
