Struggling to find small wedding venues!

user1491038402 · 20/06/2018 11:31

I'm hoping for some help, we recently got engaged and want a very small ceremony (just family, that doesn't cost the earth), somewhere in the North West area/Wales. But when I'm searching I'm only getting fancy huge places? Is there a search engine I should be using or has anyone used any? Open to suggestions/ideas!

Thanks - complete newbie!

I got married in Cheshire and there was some gorgeous small venues - we had 60 people all day and got married at Adlington Hall, it was perfectly sized for us :)

Registry office then nice meal at a restaurant?

Rhos Fynach takes from 25 people.

If you look on the council websites OP you should be able to find lists of which venues have a ceremony licence; otherwise Marry in a Church or at the register office and then go for a reception elsewhere.
How many people are you thinking of altogether?

GahWhatever · 20/06/2018 14:36

Flintshire list
Anglesey List
Wrexham
Denbighshire
My Geography is weak and my knowledge of North wales weaker so please accept my apologies if I've missed a pivotal area. Hopefully these should get you started anyway. Congratulations on your engagement.

Fforest near Cardigan is stunning!

Thank you so much,

We're thinking small maybe less than 30 so don't want to rattle around.

You've all given us lovely food for thought. FlowersStar

We were having this exact same problem. Everywhere costs the earth or us way too big. In the end we’ve got a massive luxury holiday home that has a dining room (more like a small barn) big enough to seat the 25 guests and us two comfortably. The owners are happy with us getting external caterers in and decorating how we want. It means we can all have a good time and crash in the same place, much like a hotel but without the ridiculous price tag :)
