Hi

First of all am so glad there is a wedding section!!

Please help me out with wedding invitations I don't know whether I should design them on photoshop and print them myself or if it's cheaper and more cost effective to buy online. Also pocket wallet oh my god where do I get them from? This is a nightmare I've been delaying this since January and wedding is in June. I feel so overwhelmed by the invitations its the last to do part and I just find it so hard. Please help me out I am utterly hopeless at this!!

I honestly feel it is better to get them done for you. What about optimal print. Found them good

The wedding is this June? If that's the case I'd resign myself to spending a bit of cash just to get it done! I've been invited to a wedding entirely by email before - illustrations were lovely, I'm happy it's not a piece of paper I have to hang on to until the wedding, and I imagine it's cheaper and quicker than print.

Go to your local printer, they will have templates you can chose from., and will also supply envelopes.
Also online companies like not on the high street or wooden postcard company could be a nice idea.

GlitterFree · 11/03/2018 23:03

Yes Sausagerole online options can be very nice too, I like paperlesspost.

Livinglifepeachy · 11/03/2018 23:07

I will be doing some by email and the rest by post as I know some distant family members wouldn't appreciate emails.

I need to find a print shop I've never thought about them before. Optima print sounds good too but I can't get all the information I need to put on them.

Vista print are a quick, decent choice

I'm a wedding stationery designer and if you want pocketfolds or wallets, the best supplier (in terms of range and price) would be PDA Card & Craft. But if you're also in a hurry, I'd say pay someone to design and make them for you. Zero stress! 😊

If you're on a tight budget, there's an FB group called 'Weddings, Brides, Dresses and More Original' where you can post asking for stationery designers to 'spam' you with pics and prices. Just make sure to have a good look at their page reviews before you order to make sure they're a good and reliable supplier.

We got ours from jumpfox on eBay. They were v good value and quick. We asked for info to be printed on the back which they did in the same colours as the front for no extra charge so we could fit all of our info on with no extra bits of paper. They have loads of designs and colours to choose from. They send you email proofs for you to check - we made loads of changes and tweaks which they kept doing and sending back to us quickly.

Was so much easier than printing ourselves - and a similar price once we'd factored in card and ink costs.

We got stupidly expensive ones from NotOnTheHighStreet because I feel in love with them ( luckily a small wedding)
We got names printed on them because of the styling. However I wish I had ordered some blanks to give out as spares.

Also be careful of names and numbers. It only takes a few to ask about plus ones and children to wobble the numbers. I added extra to my personal head count but less on the actual invite.

You are pretty close to the wedding so make sure you have a very clear RSVP.

I printed and made our own, i’m quite used to office work & a bit crafty so thought it would be easy but choosing paper, styles, ordering everything (& making sure I had enough) and then the actual putting all together took a lot longer than I had anticipated. I enjoyed making them but for less stress definitely worth getting someone else to do them.

Made my own x

I did mine on vista print, £25 for 30 invites and another £25 for menus to be printed out nicely. Consider that you only need to send one invite per couple.
We also asked for rsvp by email so didn’t have to pay for rsvp cards. No one can tell that they’re any different to ones done for hundreds more.

Livinglifepeachy · 23/03/2018 12:18

Hi all so thought I'd update you all on the invites situation.

Got them done on vista print about 60 for £48.

I was originally going to have a formal din din but I've scrapped that and have a free flowing food throughout the day after the ceremony and now I only need one invite and not multiple ones.

I was getting anxiety from picking evening and say guests so I feel so much better now that everyone is invited and not choosing.

They should be arriving in a week or so.
