Getting married and confused...help!

So to be brief, my guest list is small (probably less than 10) and my budget is £3000 (which is appropriate for the lack of evening do).
So here are my problems:

1.I want an outdoor natural wedding venue that's intimate and can do ceremony and afternoon tea/buffet/picnic in a beautiful landscape too. I'm struggling to find anything close to Cardiff that isn't expensive or expectant of 60 plus guests!

2.If there is no such place, maybe somewhere I won't feel silly attending a similar meal/graze in a wedding dress?

3.My mother and father aren't involved in my life with my partner and do not like him. Do I bother inviting them and risk being upset when they refuse?

I feel I just need advice on plans and I'm not sure where to start! Any help appreciatted. CARDIFF/SOUTH WALES area. SMALL OUTDOORS.

Could you find a beautiful restaurant somewhere?

Why don't they like him?

Would you be upset if your parents refuse, surely you wouldn't actually want them there if they don't like your partner?

Regarding the wedding, have you thought about having a very small simple registry wedding just for the legalities and then inviting your friends to a wedding ceremony where you don't need to have a registrar? Then you could hire any venue as it doesn't need to be one that does legal weddings ifyswim.

You need to consider the weather if you want an outdoor one .

Slightly plucking at straws here, but try a campsite or private home and a posh caterers and little marquee?

Look on the council's own websites for the list of licensed venues:

www.cardiff.gov.uk/ENG/resident/Births-marriages-and-deaths/Marriages-and-Civil-partnerships/Approved-Premises/Pages/default.aspx

Yes, it's a bit of a slog, but they have every licensed premises listed, so you don't have to rely on wading through the SEO results of a Google search.

I would say for your numbers, you might be able to find one of the nice hotels and do a short booking at an indoor ceremony, and have a private area outside for an afternoon tea arranged as the simplest option.

St Mary's Hotel and Golf Course (off the M4 on the way to Bridgend) did a lovely set of tea and cakes for a meeting I held there. They might do something that suits you.

Is Devon too far? I got married in a perfect place there which might suit.
