How far in advance did you book your venue?

Just checking if I am being completely over ambitious to get married with in a year.

I am after a barn conversion style, but interested to hear about any style wedding venues.

You absolutely don’t need ages to plan a wedding. We planned our barn wedding with 40 guests in 11 months with loads of time to spare. most of wedding planning is waiting around.

Proposal January. Booked venue February or early March. Wedding on the Saturday of the August bank holiday weekend. We were flexible on date and venue though.

It all depends how specific you are we needed a venue with very specific criteria on a Saturday in September to fit with the complex timetable of several of our guests who we want there. Nothing available this year and only just managed to book last weekend for next year.
But I appreciate our criteria are very specific.

Booked everything in February, got married and of May the same year.

Just booked ours yesterday for August next year, they were fully booked until then (although they only take bookings for May-September).

My friend got married at the Barn at Berkeley, just outside Bristol which was lovely. They got married in February, having booked the venue about 4 months before.

Registry Office but we wanted a specific date so we booked 12 months in advance when the dates were released.
