Struggling, clothes and organisation - 3 weeks left

Hi

Would someone, anyone be so kind as to give me a bit of a helping hand. We are getting married in about 3 weeks - very short notice - only been planning it for 2 weeks. Our original plan was 4 kids, us, 2 witnesses, but there has been a bit of a game changer from my DSM and suddenly we are 40 adults, 20 kids.

This is both of our second marriages, and after 3 years we are still absurdly happy together. The kids get on well and we have a pretty good merged family.

I have booked:
a hotel for my family coming from UK (we live in France)
a restaurant (for lunch)
the registry office - (morning wedding)
the kids have outfits
looking for flowers this weekend
looking for hairdresser is on my to do list

But what else should be on my to do list?

So I thought I'd bought myself part of an outfit - a top from Desigual that I felt really good in. Struggled finding a bottom that goes with it so can you tell me if this outfit is ok to wear to my wedding or are our semi-bridesmaids (3 preteen daughters) going to be better dressed than me. I've got a nasty feeling the answer is yes.

Pre-teen daughters will be wearing these Silver shift dresses

And the photos is me in my outfit. I'm going to take the trousers back for the next size up as I'm feeling like a sausage in over tight skin. I've just lost 3.5 stone, and thought I'd be into these in 3 weeks time, but I'm stress eating a bit.

Thanks for any help. I'm basically now a size 12/14 short arse with boobs.

The pale shoes for sure. And the dress looks lovely and will be fab with your children's dresses. Have a fabulous day.

myoriginal3 · 02/12/2016 13:14

I did read the whole thread Confused
Anyway yes to the sparkly dress. No to the jumper and leggings. And yes to the nude shoes.

Wallywobbles · 02/12/2016 13:23

Grey jacket but I can't get it to post.

Myoriginal - I started the thread with the idea of wearing the blue top etc but as posters pointed out my girls and I were dressed in very different styles and a kind poster mentioned something that ticked my boxes, which arrived today. So now I'm asking which accessories with the dress.

There are the black shoes which are flat and comfortable (black tights?),
or the cream ones which are not too uncomfortable and ok - but then what tights (or do I need to dye legs instead).

Are the jackets beigey one or silver/grey one?

I like the silver grey jacket the most and the black shoes could be worn with that but the pale shoes match the style of the dress better so depends on whether style vs comfort is the priority.

Gentleope · 02/12/2016 15:32

I think definitely the cream shoes. Either jacket works, in my opinion. I'd get some very thin nude tights if I were you - they are a pain in the arse but I think would go. Actually, nude fishnets are quite good, and don't ladder. They don't look fishnetty unless very close up. Maybe a large, sparkly hair clip to finish things off?

You are going to look fab. I had a very small wedding, left my outfit a bit late and played it down rather and now I wish I'd gone more glam like you are. Happy day Flowers

VivienneWestwoodsKnickers · 02/12/2016 15:42

Pale shoes, either jacket.

Great idea on the nude fishnets!

Love your dress & jacket combo Wally! Pale shoes definitely, and I love the grey jacket against the dress, but the creamy-beige might be better with the shoes when you look at the whole outfit? Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!

Joinourclub · 02/12/2016 16:06

Silver jacket. Could we see that with black shoes and black tights? The dress is fabulous by the way. Have you thought about make up? I find I look better in photos when I pile it on a bit, so wore more at my wedding than I would usually wear.

Wallywobbles · 02/12/2016 17:15

I'm hoping to rope someone in on make up. I do a good line in understated and perhaps I need to go a bit larger on the day.

I'll do black tights and shoes later. It's to cold to get undressed again !

Not black tights or shoes.would be too heavy for the frock I think unless a towering spike heel which is not on the cards.pale shoes all the way.
That dress looks bloody great on you too! Much better than the jumper for getting married in. Use the jumper as your going away outfit.( are you going away? Smile)

Ilovenannyplum · 02/12/2016 19:14

That sequin dress is beautiful. Definitely the pale shoes, not the black ones and definitely not black tights.

Love both the jackets but I think the grey one is my favourite.

Congratulations OP, hope you have a winning day Flowers

Going away next June to our Brazilian au pairs wedding. Leaving a rather gapping whole in childcare arrangements!! Think about that later.

Thanks so much for the advice. So next step is to bag some wolford tights of appropriate colour.

Such kindness. Thanks.
