I don't mean to be smug but...

We got engaged last week and have already:

  • Got a draft guest list
  • Chosen and booked venue
  • Booked registrar
  • Booked caterers
  • Chosen menu
  • Chosen colour scheme and decoration ideas
  • Decided where to spend the day after our wedding
  • Have a good idea of what favours to have
  • Draft ceremony music list and contacted musician
  • Decided on florist and contacted her
  • Shortlisted some make up/hair people

The wedding is on December 2017. I'm feeling very smug...so feel free to give me a medal....or a biscuit.... Grin

Congrats!

But I suspect there will be fights over the lack of Star Wars figurines for the women folk.

PerspicaciaTick · 07/07/2016 22:50

I want Star Wars Lego too.

gaggiagirl · 08/07/2016 22:19

Maybe you should ditch Christmas cats and give everyone star wars? I don't know many people who like cat shaped tat more than lego.

DirtyBlonde · 08/07/2016 22:33

I'd want Star Wars

(but wouldn't make a fuss as a wedding)

Do think it's generally a bad idea to assume taste and gonads are aligned.

iklboo · 08/07/2016 22:42

I want Lego too! I know I'm not invited. Probably.

TheNaze73 · 08/07/2016 22:46

I think a lot of the female guests, will be "fewmin" to quote FB at being stereotyped as mad cat women, whilst the guys, get the Lego

Well done on what you've achieved so far OP

OvariesBeforeBrovaries · 08/07/2016 22:52

Yeah sorry I'd want Star Wars too.

You've got about a year until it all kicks off with guest dramas (I'm getting married in December this year and that's the stage we're at). So that'll be fun. People will kick off over nothing in particular. Oh, and the pleading for +1s you've never met before.

Decided where to spend the day after the wedding

Is this a thing? I thought the answer was "bed, alternating between shagging your new DH's brains out and sleeping off a hangover" Grin

unimagmative13 · 08/07/2016 23:03

You'll be bored by next week and change it all.

Stylingwax · 08/07/2016 23:07

I got engaged 3 years ago. I haven't done anything because I really can't be arsed Grin

Muchtoomuchtodo · 08/07/2016 23:11

Oh you do sound awfully smug. Has your DF had any say in any of this?

Cat shaped Christmas decoration ?! Well that would go straight in the bin (if I even bothered to take it home).

You might want to rethink.

Queenbean · 08/07/2016 23:38

A handmade cat shaped Christmas decoration for the women? that must be a joke surely, no one would give something that hideous when the men's Lego figure is so great in comparison?
