Wedding Gift Stress?!

Hi there fellow mumsnetters!

This is my first post on here! I have a bit of a conundrum which I'm hoping to get some advise on please :)

So, my partner and I have been invited to an evening do for his work colleague's wedding. (Fab! Awesome! Wicked! Looking forward to it!)

It is on the 26th of October... I may have left this a little late :P

I have only met the work colleague a handful of times, but he seems like a lovely person... I have never met his future spouse (also a lovely person I would assume)!

I have no idea what they are "into" and they have no gift list. We have asked them what they would like as a gift, but they said they "Ah, don't worry about it".

I feel uncomfortable not taking a gift at all... but don't know them well enough to make an informed decision!

I really don't like to give money or gift cards (I'm a little old fashioned like that), but I would hate to get them something that they would not like/use/appreciate.

I don't want to spent a fortune and/or for them to (possibly) be embarrassed by the gesture - Just a token gift to welcome them into "wedded bliss" and to thank them for letting us be part of their special day.

So far, I have purchased them a bottle of "chocolate infused wine" that sounds interesting (On offer in Tesco)! I may end up buying some posh chocs to go with it... unless I get some better suggestions!

Really looking forward to hearing from you! :)

Posh chocolates, champagne, guide book for their honeymoon?

Ah! Thanks for the suggestions! A guidebook for their honeymoon destination is a great idea! I'll find out in the morning where they are going, if anywhere!

My favourite chocolates are from Hotel Chocolat and they do some lovely gift boxes which would be a lovely accompaniment to the wine.
