Oh please don't wear a maxi dress. Fat women and maxi dresses just don't go. And I speak as a chub.

SaggyTitsAndHairyToes · 14/06/2013 22:36

no its below the knee,
I agree with you although my mum looks lovely in them Grin

MrsLettuce · 14/06/2013 22:44

do you mean this one? It looks very cheap and size enhancing TBH

MrsLettuce · 14/06/2013 22:48

this in rhe aqua with a lovely jacket or wrap would be marginallly better.

What's her budget?

MrsLettuce · 14/06/2013 22:53

this with this and red shoes would be good.

MrsLettuce · 14/06/2013 23:13

and of course control pants would help her feel more 'secure' in the tummy department

this?

SaggyTitsAndHairyToes · 15/06/2013 00:32

that last one is lovely far to dark, my mum is 50+ Smile
the shape of the marisota one is very very flattering on her ssomething alike?? same colour wouldvhe nice aswell Wink

TBH, if you have such a specific style and range of shades in mind for her and a tight budget it'd probably be best to have something made to order. A lot of brands seem to stop at a 28 so there's not much choice and the nice stuff in larger sizes will tend to sell out sharpish - a seamstress could make her something to your/her exact specifications that will fit perfectly.

Another option would be to order from the states but then there's import duty and extreme faff with exchanges.

MrsLettuce · 15/06/2013 10:41

this and this or this in aqua orthis in navy?

I really do think the navy / gold lace dress form before has potential and is probably less dark IRL than in the photo.

SaggyTitsAndHairyToes · 16/06/2013 13:02

One last try then - how about this, this or this in blues and silvers? The dresses are made to order and they'd almost certainly be able to add long(er) sleeves to the last too. The design your own dress service might be a good fall back if you know exactly what she wants but can't find it. They will send out fabric swatches.

MrsLettuce · 16/06/2013 13:11

too = two. natch.
