Specially for all those of you out there with rosettes on standing in the cold grinning at voters as they try and sneak in past you into the polling station and for those of you wondering what to where as you march purposefully to the polling station to vote.

Thermals are the order of the day! Particularly on the east coast and Scotland where a strong north easterly wind will pick up making mediocre temps feel colder.

Showers and rain will move from northern areas further south, particularly affecting central and western areas. So be prepared with your brolly and rain mac.

if you are in the se in particular don't forget a good moisturising suncream for your face. you'll have a good wind/sun/cold effect.

Jeans, long sleeved t-shirt and a good winter jumper then for me (much like I'm wearing today actually but then I feel the cold! ) Won't forget my coat then when I go and vote in case we have showers.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 05/05/2010 12:19

it is def winter jumper weather!! ridiculously cold.

And a brief weather report for postal voters:

it will be jolly nice & warm inside, especially if you keep the doors & windows shut.

well, if turnout is based on weather the se should have the highest turnout tomorrow with it staying dry in those parts.

pretty much as this morning really rain starts off in northern and midland parts then rain or showers possible just about any where other than se. (maybe some rogue showers end of day in se)

se england and scotland - quite a gusty day - cold cold wind. if you can find a sheltered bit to stand though it might almost get pleasant in se.

rain (where it is) becomes more showery in nature through the day. some of them could be heavy and thundery in nature. se still pretty much looking like it will stay dry with showers concentrated in western and northern parts.

wind still set to pick up through the day particularly in se and scotland put blowy in many parts.

nw and se looking like warmest in uk - reaching possibly 14c. temps commonly in the 10-12C. tonight in some areas the temp will drop off to around 5c, so if you are doing a late shift at the polling station wrap up warm!

It's dull and drizzly here.

Mild though.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 06/05/2010 09:39

thats a bit miserable! might clear up for you a bit this afternoon.

We had rain this morning, then a bright spell (that's probably the only one for the day!) and now it's dull and cloudy again.
I saw on our local weather forecast last night, that they're giving temperatures of 7C this weekend. 7?!!; that's winter temperatures! I want to start putting bedding plants out!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 06/05/2010 10:56

I tok a chance and did some one handed planting of bedding plants yesterday. They were out growing their pots and I couldnt face potting them on.

am sick of shivering.

I want to be warm again!

My poor Mum suffers with Raynauds so is miserable just now.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 06/05/2010 11:04

snap everyone who looks at my bandaged hand gets very alarmed at the blue fingers I have. have to keep pointing out to the nurses that its normal for me and not some hideous burn complication.

OP posts:
mankyscotslass · 06/05/2010 11:09

How is the burn healing?

OhYouBadBadKitten · 06/05/2010 11:33

it was slowly getting there (had finally just about healed over) then last week developed an infection. on 7th day of antibiotics and its still weeping and my hand throbs a bit if I use it or have it hanging down. getting very cross with it as I'd hoped to be back helping at school and stuff but I don't want to pick up any thing else while I'm fighting this off.
back to see nurse tomorrow. ho hum.

I suppose the upside is, I have plenty of time to watch the election at leisure!

OP posts:
mankyscotslass · 06/05/2010 11:38

Good luck tomorrow! What a shame about the infection when it was healing nicely.

Mums doctors have told her she needs to be careful when she gets any cuts/burns or anything because of her circulation issues.

I can't bring myself to watch anymore election stuff. DH and I have a stockpile of Heroes, DrWho and the new V series to watch tonight so I can avoid it.

I feel like its being going on forever now, and I just want to wake up in the morning and find out who won. (although I know an outright winner is looking unlikely at the moment)

SoMuchToBits · 06/05/2010 11:39

Sunny but windy here - (East)

OhYouBadBadKitten · 06/05/2010 11:42

lol - election fatigue?
Your mums doctors are right, I was told at a&e the day I did it that the raynauds would cause problems with healing and it seems to have been true.

OP posts:
OhYouBadBadKitten · 06/05/2010 11:42

So a good moisturiser day SoMuch?

OP posts:
mankyscotslass · 06/05/2010 13:12

I have just got rained on doing my civc duty.....

Polling station was very quiet, I was actually a bit creeped out, apart from the officers I was the only one there!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 06/05/2010 18:22

well done!
