Typical climate for parts of UK

hi there
I have been trying to figure out how different parts of the UK - from central to South - vary in climate but all the reports I look up are very technical.

I was wondering if any weather experts could do a general comparison of London compared to:

Ludlow
Cotswolds
Chichester

there may be no variation worth mentioning of course but thought it worth asking. Thanks.

Why thank you Slim Smile

I think the sea warms the surrounding area and makes a bit of a microclimate. We also have the South Downs inland from us which act as a bit of a buffer too.

On the odd occasion snow does get this far south, it still rarely hits us, we are at sea level. I can look out toward the South Downs from upstairs and see snow but thankfully not have it outside.

Doyou " I can look out toward the South Downs from upstairs and see snow but thankfully not have it outside."

I can look out and see the South Downs from my house too - just!! There's quite often a dusting of snow on the hills in the winter but nothing at all down here in town.

And I live up high on the South Downs so we often get snowed in here whilst Brighton 10 mins away often misses out Smile

I am going to need to do so much research into this when I move.

It's like when I go out anywhere near the Docklands area - I would never have afforded it anywhere, but I was honestly surprised how much colder it would be in winter compared to my built up part of the suburbs. There's some lovely bars etc along the river but in winter, you exit and the cold hits you hard!

I think I looked at the MET office website when we were moving from south to Cumbria. Very little difference in average temperature across the year, but the rainfall up here is more than double where we were before Shock!

I'm in north Wiltshire and my DCs complain about how it's colder here than in London at any time of the year.
We're on the top of a hill with little between us and the Bristol Channel and weather coming from the west frequently splits and goes to either side.
