Quick pls, London weather this weekend, packing!

I'm packing for this upcoming long weekend in London, and have heard it's raining and cold??
Please advise, we'll be seeing some sights, museums, but on the tube etc, walking, and going out for a meal.

Will we need coats, or will rain macs do?

Jumpers and jeans, or dresses and scarves?

Sunblock or brollies?

What's it like where you are in London today? Any forecasts? More importantly does it feel cold and wet? Or warm and wet?

Obviously I don't want to bring a winter type wardrobe, but don't want to freeze if it's chilly!

TIA

I'd say layers - vest top, t-shirt, cardy and a rain coat. Plus thin trousers or a skirt. Always hot on the tube and in shops

I know mrsTwiddles, thanks, and sorry to be so weird, but I always find the forecast never really feels like the weather iikwim?

I mean, it's changable, yes, but is it cold or warm?
I'm trying to pack into a 10kg carry on case as I'm flying down.
Thanks again!

I am London - it's not cold, I am wearing a long sleeved shirt and light jacket and I am fine. It's definitely not shorts and t shirt weather but i think you'll be fine in something quite light and bring a raincoat (there are lots of other people outside wearing shorts and t-shirts btw, but I think they are secretly freezing.)

ASDismynormality · 07/08/2017 15:12

It's not cold but the last few days it's been switching between lovely and pouring within minutes!

Plexie · 07/08/2017 15:14

Well it's not 'cold' - unless you're from somewhere hot and think anything below 25 degrees is cold.

Tube will be hot. Layering is good. I prefer an umbrella to a raincoat - easier to put in a carrier bag rather than carry around a dripping coat.

Grey but warm here in sw London. I'm in shorts and a long sleeved t shirt and my children are in shorts and t shirts.

Just heading back up north after long weekend in London. It's not cold. It's been sunny, cloudy, muggy and windy all in the same day but not cold.

I wore cropped jeans or skinnies, trainers, tshirt/vest and cardi most days and was plenty warm enough. Pac-a-mac for when it rained to keep the worst off. You might want an extra layer if you'll be out and about in the evening. HTH.

Thanks all for your help.
I packed a rain mac, and didn't use it. Brought a scarf and a brolly.
Cropped trews and shirt and tunic did the trick, with a tea dress and cardi for our meal out.
And sunnies!
It was boiling on the tube Blush Angry
