The three main models show a potentially nasty little low pressure zipping across the uk over Sunday night. They all take different paths and deepen to different amounts, but when a feature shows up across the models I tend to take notice.

I'll update with any developments, but it might be as well to be prepared for gales of the old fashioned autumn kind. If you are planning a camping trip, be prepared to peg down well!

And the rather 'meh' summer continues.
(Did you have a good holiday ~ I thought you might be away when I didn't 'see' you posting when there was the weather warning last week!)

OhYouBadBadKitten · 18/08/2015 10:35

I had an amazing holiday :) Can't say where as it would be really outing. I can say it was uncharacteristically hot!

Then tell me it is going to be blissful the end of next week as I will be camping in Devon. G'wan, you can fib to me Grin

Sunday exciting weather is fine as long as it is later in the day thank you.

GloriaSmud · 18/08/2015 13:09

Excellent stuff

achieve6 · 18/08/2015 13:15

oh no
I just ordered some stuff for the balcony Sad

actually it won't arrive by then. I hate windy weather.

Arnoldthetortoise · 18/08/2015 20:46

Oh crikey no, got an overnight ferry crossing with small children on Sunday night. Which way is it travelling?

meglet · 18/08/2015 22:16

Some of the tree's are starting to change colour down here.

A truly grey and cool summer.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 18/08/2015 22:26

gfs takes it down the west coast in the latest run. ecmwf doesnt really develop it this time. Will update tomorrow :)

still there in the models. Saturday looks hot for many, Sunday looks wet, with perhaps high rainfall totals, then the low pressure Sunday night, which isnt terribly unusual, but could be a bit rough for trees which are still full in leaf.

horse chestnut trees always start really early.

our hornbeam is also showing he odd twig here and there of colour change. I think it does it quite regularly.

MrSlant · 19/08/2015 16:45

Well the express have called it so it must be true MONSOON! Grin

fab mininitem on bbc forecast highlighting the uncertainty due to subtle differences in the jet stream. It looks either very wet and warm Sunday or rather windy and cooler sunday night.

I clicked the Express link and now I feel dirty.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 20/08/2015 08:28

Poor you Lumpy!

In the latest model iterations it seems that we are looking much more at a rain maker than a wind storm with Monday looking thoroughly disgusting for both the south of England and much of Scotland. Cool as well.

I just watched the bbc news and they said it had changed in the last half hour. To be honest my lawn needs the rain, and I love a rainy day, almost as much as a snowy one! Smile

OhYouBadBadKitten · 20/08/2015 09:04

how funny of them to say that, wonder which model 'changed in the last half hour'! What was their forecast?

OP posts:
MrSlant · 20/08/2015 12:29

Sorry Lumpy. Grin

OhYouBadBadKitten · 20/08/2015 18:16

ugh. So forecast has shifted again slightly. Really very heavy rain crossing on Sunday and then on Monday its gone from thoroughly disgusting, to completely and utterly disgusting. Really really wet in the latest gfs.
Might be quite thundery Sunday night too.

Still looking wet rather than windy, but some potential thunderstorms both tomorrow and perhaps Sunday night.
