mn and my ipad are not very compatible today. Keeps wiping out what I write ehen I switch tabs grrr.

Tomorrows low looks increasingly nasty with up to 60mm of rain possible in some places in the south. Will post the warnings in a sec.

Thanks for the heads-up, I emptied the paddling pool yesterday. It would have been a complete pain in the arse today!

ErrolTheDragon · 24/07/2015 11:35

Wow - and the SE is probably not used to that sort of rain so doesn't have the sort of drainage and water management we have in the NW.

Hope it blows over quickly for you down there.

MySweetPrince · 24/07/2015 12:00

Should I cancel the camping in Grandma's garden near New Romney as it's very flat there and could flood - we have no rain at the moment - just overcast and a slight drizzle. Is it coming our way later?

Moodykat · 24/07/2015 12:43

Drawn between which part of Hampshire and Norfolk?!!

I always draw my line from the IOW :)

Interestingly looking at the radar coastal areas of east sussex and Kent may miss the heaviest of rain which moves just a little north of there.

Well, nothing here in SE Kent yet so one set of teenagers have set off for New Romney with car loaded with tents and sleeping bags. Grandma has large summer house in the garden which could be used as emergency shelter!

Moodykat · 24/07/2015 13:07

If the line starts at the IOW and stretches to Norfolk then it might just miss us! Am camping between Lymington River and Beaulieu River!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 24/07/2015 13:13

You will still get rain moodykat.

raintoday for latest radar. Their app is predicting 50mm for me in central southern england.

Yes, apparently it is hammering down now. I don't mind the rain so much, it's the wind that scares me!

PeteCampbellsRecedingHairline · 24/07/2015 14:36

Lots of rain on the Hampshire/Dorset border.

The weather forecast for next week keeps changing. Will we get a few sunny days?

gallicgirl · 24/07/2015 14:45

We've had good solid summer rain in south Essex. The ground could do with a soaking really.

digerd · 24/07/2015 17:08

S.Herts.

Began to rain lightly around mid-day which increased during the afternoon.
Rain is steady and vertical - so no wind.
No thunder or hail.
But only 13.8 degrees atm.

Enb76 · 24/07/2015 17:30

It's been raining all day here in Cambridge. No let up at all.

gallicgirl · 24/07/2015 17:53

It's really heavy here now and dark enough to have rights on.

So obviously DD is going out to play.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 24/07/2015 19:39

Gales may well develop in the channel and southern north sea as we go through this evening tonight, creating more misery for those trying to get across to France. Also the rain will intensify much more into EA tonight, giving some very large rainfall totals.
A lot of this weather system to go yet tonight.

Oooh!!! We just had a clap of thunder Grin

GloriaSmud · 24/07/2015 21:08

Pesto ~ storm showing up nicely here.
Proper 'orrible, getting dark and looking/feeling autumnal here. 11.5C

RedBlu · 25/07/2015 10:51

Raining since midday yesterday and hasn't left up since. Easing a bit now but still raining.

Came downstairs this morning to discover next doors parasol in our garden as they didn't bother to put it down nor do they have it in a stand - despite weather warnings for strong winds. The pole just missed our patio doors. Angry
