Seriously, Winter can just go now.

4 months of cold, grey and wet weather and I've had enough.

Is there any sign of things warming up in the not too distant future? The Met office has Hampshire on sub zero - +3 degrees for the next few days and frankly that isn't good enough Sad.

It's lovely here in Manchester at the moment - sunny skies and a bit of warmth to it, but as soon as you are in the shade it's chilly.

-2 in the night. Must have been a clear sky after being cloudy all day.

No daffs here, just one old primrose blooming - all my others have died over the years, daffs included.
During March, I always fertilise my many climbing roses, but not warm enough yet.

I was shocked with disbelief that last week the weather forecast said it would be warmer in the NW than in the < sunny and warm?> South. That's not right. !!

+2 last night so 4 degrees milder . Forecast says milder and SUNNY tomorrow

That'll wake up my Camelias, so hope for no more frosts?
Neighbours Crocuses are up, but only bloom in the sun. Her daffs bloom before mine as she is on the south side, mine are hidden under my Japanese Anenomes, not yet cut down to ground level.
Gardening tomorrow then !!
Supposed to be wet on Wednesday - had only one afternoon of rain since the snow melted.
Hoping for no more frost/snow. Mornings are getting noticably lighter earlier too. Slowly coming out of my winter hibernation mode. SUN shining now, yipee!!

We have had a touch of spring over the last few days in Norfolk. Saw some primroses blooming yesterday, and even some leaf bud on the hedges. That always makes me feel spring is on the way. And the lighter evenings are helping too :)

Hang in there - nothing will stop it - March is the tail end of winter - honest.

Lovely morning with sunshine, so far, but still feels very cold outside.

8.7C here in Leicester and sunny.
Today and tomorrow are supposed to be nice but chilly tonight, so I forecast a day or two in the garden! Rain/showers due to move in from Wednesday pm.

I am so OVER winter.

OYBBK, what's this I'm hearing about an exceptionally cold March WITH SNOW? Like the kind of snow March hasn't seen for many years?

I was born in early April many years ago and apparently there was snow on the ground then. Is this likely in your opinion?

Spring WAS in the air today Smile. Chilly start on the school run but warmed up by lunchtime.

I've seen daffodils and teenagers playing football in the park in t-shirts. DD decided to wear flip-flops in the garden Hmm.

There was snow in April 2008. I remember as I was pg with DD and sat there with then 18mo old DS in his highchair watching the snow falling.

Our snowman appeared in the parish magazine that Easter!

Was a lovely day in Warwickshire, had lunch outside. Lots of chaffinches calling.

And there is that oft quoted Met Office statistic that we are more likely in the UK to have a white Easter than a white Christmas.

I think it was Easter 2000 when there was that sudden heavy snowfall and 600 lambs on Exmoor died of cold. Makes me fill up whenever I think of it... :(

I'm afraid that from mid next week on spring does look to be cancelled with the possibility of some wintery stuff about the place. Possibly looks set to continue through to the end of the month.

I certainly wouldn't be planning on putting any seeds into the ground this weekend! Would be a bit of a waste.

I'm quite startled by how quickly the soil is drying out in this spell of drier weather we've had. I think it's time for me to order some mulch soon to top up my beds (and check my water butts and gutters are ok to make the most of the rain we are going to get over the next few days). Although its going to get very cold and brrrrrr from mid next week I'm not sure how much rain we will get and it's a critical time for growing plants.
