I just rang dh to get a bit of extra stuff on his way home. He acted as if I was mental. Can't wait to see his face when he's braved the shops on the way home Grin I'm not bothered about getting about I just hate the cold and want to hibernate.

SilverAndSparklyKat · 17/01/2013 16:22

I have given the chickens some extra straw. And I will make a stew.
THat is all.

Badvoc · 17/01/2013 16:24

MrsSalvoMontalbano · 17/01/2013 16:25

PseudoBadger · 17/01/2013 16:28

I'll look for some other water thingys Madmog thanks

MadBusLady · 17/01/2013 16:33

Does anyone know how often you need to grit? I gritted five days ago and there was no snow so it's still there (though trodden into pavement a bit), should I put out more? Don't want to waste it if unnecessary.

THERhubarb · 17/01/2013 16:34

I grit my teeth every day, does that count?

MadBusLady · 17/01/2013 16:38

Hm, maybe I should try it. I only gird my loins at the moment. Grin

meditrina · 17/01/2013 16:50

Sparklingbrook · 17/01/2013 17:07

Bring the chickens in overnight. Wink

Has anyone bought any of that stuff to chuck on the drive? I have table salt as usual. Grin Apparently cat litter doesn't do the job very well and makes a huge mess.

I have got the sledges out. Grin

Sledges ready, giant marbles prepped, snow boots ready - we're ready to go!!

Sparklingbrook · 17/01/2013 17:08

I think meditrina means blowing them up and putting them over your head nickel. then settling down with a book. Grin

BadgersRetreat · 17/01/2013 17:45

don't put grit down now - wait till it's snowed, then shovel it away and grit the ice underneath, if there is any

PoppyWearer · 17/01/2013 17:46

Carrots, bollocks, knew there was something!

Sparklingbrook · 17/01/2013 17:50

No need to give the snowman bollocks Poppy.

Although I would be quite the talking point of the naice street we live in if I did!

Sparklingbrook · 17/01/2013 17:55

What would be good to make snowman bollocks out of Poppy? Couple of plums? Would look fab and give the neighbours something to tut about. Grin

Plan a design for a creative snow feature - last year some children built an igloo, it was still recognisable a week later as their 'blocks' took ages to melt.

Anyone got any plans to build anything out of snow other than a snowman (with or without bollocks)

doyouwantfrieswiththat · 17/01/2013 18:26

if you have time on your hands

Sparklingbrook · 17/01/2013 19:38

Love Calvin and Hobbes doyou. Grin
