short lived but potentially heavy snow for northern parts. Mostly up in the hills but may extend to lower levels.

i know it is only february but I'd quite like to see pring take hold properly. Although we have early signs down here (first blossom peeking out) it is so damp and grey and gloomy.

hmpff.

It has been a very long winter, so I agree with you Kitten.

risk still seems to be there - southern scotland and the pennines most at risk.

it is funny - last year the cold lasted so very long. this year, after december, for the majority of us its as though someone turned the weather off and forgot to turn it back on again.

It's always a long winter where I am (or feels it!) but I was amazed to see crocuses on the shore of the Atlantic the other day! Someone had tipped some garden soil into the banks and there they were, all lovely and yellow and purple Smile

Anyway, not seeing any snow for us - just wet and windy, yay... Hmm

EverettUlyssesMcGill · 21/02/2011 08:08

We have snowdrops. That's about it. And some Vinca...

what would be really useful would be a good way to utilise these grey, dull, damp days when the garden is a sludgey swamp and it's a bit too miserable for nice picnics or bike rides.

Short of tidying up and decorating the house, I really never know what to do!

pennines are out of the met office risk area - NW england and southern scotland still under advisories but for lesser amounts. Risk mostly confined to hills.
