Kkey - I hope the Op went ok x

Lou - your bf is the 4th service, just as important as the other 3. Please give him a hug from me and tell him I think he's brilliant to be out there in this weather helping people.

DH is on nights, although his company said they would pick him up with a 4 wheel drive if he wasn't able to make it himself. He wasn't worried about getting there this evening, but more concerned about getting home tomorrow morning with the ice.

Thanks all-i hope you all got around safely.
op went as well as could be-she is in icu and ventilated so it is a hard time but we are glad she came through the op and pray that her children get to see her tommorow
:-(

The staff at the Royal Free on the phone said most fo their staff were sleeping at work.

Please no more snow-sunshine would be gratefully received.

thanks, he is enjoying a well earned day off today, before a 6.30 start tomorrow

not sure when he will finish, it depends on the weather and how busy it is

ChippingIn · 19/12/2010 16:03

Kkey - how did she go last night? Did her kids get to see her today?

Lou - I hope you are really proud of him and that he knows how many others are. Winter & summer, but especially winter!

lou33 · 19/12/2010 19:44

glad the op went well kk

lets hope the weather improves as asap so my bf can get a break!

summer isnt so bad , its a quieter period for him

its this time of year he works his backside off

Thankfully we managed to get to our il's xmas party at Leeds yesterday from Lancs.(our only chance to see them over xmas) I had to leave my works xmas do early on Fri we had about 7 inch of snow fall overnight. Motorways closed near us.
We saw cars abandoned on mway yesterday. We are quite rural and hilly where we live so thankfully dp managed to get the cars to the main road where they usually spend much of the winter.
Looks like xmas food shop done via sledge again !!
kkey glad op went ok.

lou33 · 20/12/2010 13:55

my bf started work again at 6.30 this morning

at 8.30 he called me to say dont attempt to drive anywhere as the roads are lethal

by 11.30 he had fixed 6 cars, and he rang a short time ago to say work are restricting breaks for all drivers because they have 60 jobs backed up

i have NO idea why anyone would go out in this weather unless they had absolutely no choice

he is meant to finish at 5.30 but i am pretty sure that wont happen, more likely it will be about 9

kkey21 · 20/12/2010 21:56

Thanks all.... Sorry I skimmed the thread but wanted to say her children got to spend lots of time with her yesterday and today, as I did also..... Before she passed away late afternoon :-(
