How do I Introduce bread?

My DS has is on three meals a day and loves food.

I want to introduce bread/toast.

My question is do I need to buy a certain bread? We (DH and I) eat a brown seeded bread and I think this is not a good choice as he might choke/inhale seeds etc.

Should I try a kids white bread?

Any advice welcome. Thanks!

I'd give him the same as you, think about the fact that you're trying to offer maximum nutrition in every piece of food he eats. Bread included. Butter a slice cut it in to fingers and put it in front of him. He'll lick it and suck it and probably chew and swallow some. No worries.

I wondered about this and bought nice soft white bread for a bit, but now ds (7.5mo) just has the hovis granary stuff that we eat, no problems. He loves pitta bread too (doesn't fall apart as easily)

Watch out for the salt though, bread has loads

DS found toast or breads with a firmer consistency easier to manage as a baby. Pitta bread is good, especially those mini ones. Stick a packet in the freezer, then you can get one out as you need it.

We always have seeded bread and DS never had any issues with it. He didn't have it as a tiny baby but certainly by a year old he was having a bit of DP's seeded bagel most mornings.

I've always given DD our seeded bread, never thought not to, she's fine

Ms Slice of Wholemeal, I would like to introduce you to dc. DC this is Ms Slice of Wholemeal.
