BLW tip for older babies

This might be so obvious that you're all doing it anyway, but just in case you haven't discovered this brilliant trick, I'll share it with you! When they start off, we give our BLWers lovely big chunks of stuff they can grab. But I've found that with my pincer-grasping 9 month old, tiny weeny pieces of finger food are great, especially for 'packed lunches'. Her meal keeps her busy for ages and ages, giving me time to drink coffee and eat my own food. I make up little boxes of sweetcorn, chopped raisins, tiny pieces of cheese and ham, peas, broken up rice cakes etc etc - all about sweetcorn sized. Try it if you haven't already!

Thanks BelindaRose! I've just started to realise that while my puree weaning friends are trying to get their little ones to eat bigger lumps, my DS is coping with (and often prefering) smaller pieces.

My other recent discovery is using forks (plastic ones from ASDA). Much easier than loading spoons (DS just used to turn the spoon upside down or flick things off it), DS loves stabbing at the food and turning the fork around to get the food off it.

Anyone have any other top tips?
