Poo frequency and weaning...

This is a bit similar to the question someone asked recently about giving baby rice. DS has (after 3 months of weaning) finally started to eat a bit more in the way of solids, though still not a huge amount. I'm wondering whether this is related to a major increase in poo frequency, from roughly every other day to 3+ a day (5 today). They're not solid yet, just, erm, showing some evidence of vegetables (sorry if TMI). Has anyone else experienced this or is it most likely a tummy upset?

Congrats on the eating-more bit - you must be pleased

Yes, DS had quite a few dirty nappies a day when he started out, my friends reported the same with their babies. This has now settled to a reliable 2 a day in morning and evening (and he still doesn't eat much)

So all fine I think, just their systems gearing up for non-milk intake I reckon.

Thanks, that's reassuring!

Hi

I've found this too. My 6 month old is getting through pampers at a rate of knots since starting purees. Quite amusing spotting the various veg as they appear out the other end! I also think it's his digestive system adjusting to the new intake as he seems fine otherwise.

Best wishes

Intresting, DS's have gone the other way. Not pooing as often, but still a healthy amount

Mentioned this at the docs the other day (there for a different reason) and he said its normal for toilets to change either way, while their guts are adusting to the fibres in food.

I know what you mean about food in the poo, orange specs of carrot! (sorry tmi!)
