reducing bottles in 10-month-old?

My daughter is 10 months old, started solids at 6 months, and is eating 3 (smallish) meals a day but still drinking 4 x 7oz bottles per day, which is what she was on when she started solids.

She occasionally (maybe once a week) wakes in the night, usually because of teeth I think, but when she does, she drains a 7oz bottle then too.

She?s in great form, very active and alert, gaining weight, all that.

I?m just wondering is it ok to keep following her lead, or should I try to reduce the milk and up the solids? I give her as much solid as she will take (obviously!) but she often leaves half of what I give her (a mixture of mashed meals and finger foods)

Or should I keep on as we are, and only think about dropping a bottle when she stops finishing them?

Thanks for your help

Try giving her water not milk if she wakes at night. Better for her teeth! During the day, maybe feed her first then give milk as a top-up. She should still be drnking at least half a pint a day, though. But it sound like you have a healthy babe, so don't worry.

Thanks for that mrsdepp - we did try watering down the night time bottle, but when it was about half water- half formua, she rumbled us and wouldn't settle after it! I do think she's hungry at that time, I guess the trick will be getting more food into her during the day?

We give her solids at our mealtime, then a bottle about an hour later. She did have a bad cold about 6 weeks ago, that took a good while to clear ... would that have an impac on appetite for soilds do you think? It seemed to, but I'm not sure if it's a co-incidence
