i have tried my own purees and no go. only just got her to have ella/organix/plum baby food stage 2. was having 30oz of milk a day and HV said cut back to 21 now and see if she'll take more solids that way.

i have and yes she'll now have ready brek for breakfast 9-10 am with fruit puree and 1/2-3/4 an ella pouch (for example) and a few tea spoons of dessert 2-3 pm. She has an average 5 oz milk at 7am ish, 11ish, 4ish 8 ish and 11pm ish (ditched the 3am feed she was demanding as not really crying just awake so just gave it to send her back to sleep which it didn't anyway).

supper she isn't hungry for solids but will have milk.

BTW she is gaining weight well just want to try to give more solids.....any experiences of progression to own food or how to tweak my schedule would be appreciated. TIA

any suggestions on how to progress. BLW not an option sorry don't want to go through why just not an option.

Have you tried single food purees? Such as cooked apple, mashed banana, sweet potato, etc?

I remember that my dd's favourite purée at that age was cauliflour cheese.

I think I'd be tempted to stop offering the ready made ones altogether. She will be fine if she is still mostly taking just milk at this age. Keep offering your own purees and trying different tastes until you find the ones she likes.

I think it's totally fine to use ready made, as long as she is eating and gaining weight. The Ella's kitchen etc are fairly nutritious anyway, you're not giving something terrible!
Some of mine were really fussy but all ended up on normal food eventually. DS, 17 months and with reflux, went through a stage of refusing food altogether and after that as long as he was eating it didn't matter so much what. The hospital said the same thing.

What helped with us was offering him some of our food when we were at the table. Started with mash etc. You could also mix some purree with homemade? They will soon want more 'grown up' foods when they are ready!
