She eats pretty much the same as us, and has done for several months, makes life easier. But just a few questions please....

  1. Do I still need to make soups, casseroles etc with Boots' baby stock cubes? They never taste nice for the adults, so can I now use normal stock cubes?
  1. DD eats yoghurt, Weetabix and porridge off a spoon but WILL NOT eat dinner off a spoon, eg. mashed spuds, lasagne etc. It's fine if we have twirly pasta of chicken bits or roast veg which she can eat as finger food no probs, but what about other meals that need to be taken from a spoon?
  1. Gravy. Ok to put a little on her meal IF she s refusing it because it's dry? I've bought the Bisto low salt one.
  1. Getting bored with and stuck for ideas for lunch.... soup was great in Winter but I make less of it in Summer, also she's less likely to take it off a spoon,so need some inspiration please. Usually end up having cheese on toast or breadsticks in philly, followed by some fruit. She was allergic to egg, but HV has recommended I try her on it again, so there's one idea. I eat lots of salad lnches in summer...DD loves tomatoes, can she also have lettuce? Any other easy ideas for lunches?
  1. Can she now have cold meats eg. leftover chicken/ deli ham etc? What about bacon and sausages?

TIA.

  1. Personally I would still be low salt becasue so much other food has salt, it is one meal that you know is okay - but I don't know what normal guidelines are!
  1. Neither will my DS! As a result he is always given finger foods -
carbs: new potato, mini gnocci (waitrose), pasta in all forms, rice pasta. Protein: everything/anything chopped in pieces Veg: anything. It is quite high maintenance but I would prefer him to eat well then battle because he won't use a spoon!
  1. I would use it!
  1. Eggy bread, omlette, sandwiches...
  1. I think it is advisable to avoid bacon (salt!) but all others I would say are fine. Again, personally, I try to buy good quality sausages, which are a favourite in our house!

Good luck

I would be VERY careful giving your dd any egg if she has had an allergic reaction to it. Even if the first reaction was mild, the next reaction may be more severe.

Both of my dds are allergic to eggs. DD1 can tolerate egg when it is baked in cakes etc but this was trialled in hospital following the results of a skin prick test and on the advice of her allergy specialist.

There is plenty of advice on the allergies board.
