So, we've been doing CLW (cake led weaning), but talk porridge to me...

Is she ok to have normal porridge or am I meant to piss about buying baby stuff?

She is only 20 weeks but started swiping food from my hand (cakes... a diff cake product daily ), and this morning she is throwing a hissy fit over the others eating porridge, shoved a spoonful at her and she loved the bloody stuff. (Does she not realise she is meant to want toast to eat without me feeding her?!!?!)

I'm ok to give her normal porridge and not some over priced baby stuff aren't I? I can't think of anything terrible in porridge that isn't in cake

I think it depends if you'r using proper oats and not the quick cook stuff, which contains too much salt I believe?

Normal porridge totally fine. Try porridge pancakes to give it a BLW spin (thick porridge allowed to set in a bowl then cut into chunks)

That's the second time i've mentioned them this morning, spooky!

You can use normal oats or Readybrek for her DD had both from the start. We made normal porridge quite thick and let it cool in thepan and she had porridge fingers to munch on.

fabulous

DS has left some of his, so am shoving in a spoonful as I wander past each time.

Poor neglected third born

I was so insistent that she wasn't being weaned til 6 months. I guess they really do let you know....

Make it extra thick and she can shove it in by the handful

oat so simple original is just oats and soya lecithin (to stop it boiling over in the microwave). We do it with grated apple, grated pear, mashed banana.
