Yoghurts.....

Just doing the shopping online and have decided to start DS on yoghurts for snacks.

He is 31 weeks. Looking at all the ingredients on childrens yoghurts has made me a bit though. Are natural, full fat youghurts suitable for babies?

Or what types do you feed your DCs and why?

TIA

buy full fat natural greek in big pots and spoon it into a bowl for him - cheaper and less waste

add fruit or fruit puree (or not, as you/he like)

(that was for little ones, btw - dd is now 2 and will eat any yoghurt put in front of her - atm I get full-fat french-style set)

If you do want to buy children's yoghurts then go for the Sainsbury's kids ones or the Rachels Organic first ones - both are sweetened only with fruit/juice.

I've just bought DS some Onken natural yoghurt that is 'set' so is firm and not too sloppy for little ones.

Thanks Badger, CantSleep and LJ, think I will go for the natural yoghurt. Petit Filous never killed me but don't think I'll be feeding them to DS

apart from anythign else they cost a bloody fortune

BustleInYourHedgerow · 24/02/2010 21:42

True. And DS has a monster appetite so would probably eat two at a time.

I give my 30 week old DS natural Greek yoghurt mixed with stewed fruit. He LOVES it (prob as it is very creamy). Greek yoghurt also has a high fat content which is good for babies.

I haven't given him Petit Filous at all although I know lots of mums / parents do.
