I'm thinking of offering my DD toast as finger food. stupid question but is it ok to butter it?

As long as she's over 6 months it's fine. I buy unsalted butter for my DS, and don't use huge amounts.

I definitely used butter from early on. Just make sure it is proper butter not a spread that might be full of chemicals, and also that it is unsalted.

mmm, yum. now you have made me want toast and butter.

Thanks for the advice. She's over 6m and I have unsalted butter in the fridge so it's happy days for her tomorrow.

I never used to before DS was about 1 as it would have been a waste to buy unsalted butter just for him. It's good for them though as it's dairy, lots of fat and calcium

Just a tip - cut a whole slice into 4 squares, then these squares into triangles. They seem less bendy and easier to hold than soldiers.

NO NO NO!!! And for one good reason only - you will think 'mm, that looks nice' (because it is) you will have just a little bit yourself, to keep baby company and demonstrate the yumminess of toast, and from then on you will be hooked. And 3 years on, like me, you will still be trying to lose the weight you put on showing your dc just hoe delicious food is.
