Cleaning up after food making skin sore, what to do?

DD is 7.5 months and we're doing BLW, she has recently started having 3 meals a day and I wash her hands and round her mouth after every messy one and her face looked really sore today. I have been using warm water and an organic cotton flannel that seemed pretty soft, sometimes used babywipes but would prefer to use something reusable if poss, followed by a soft towel to dry.

What do you do for regular clean ups? Their skin is so delicate it feels like anything done several times a day might soon end up irritating it. Have been wondering if using cotton wool would be better, or adding some oil to the water?

We've always just used water and a flannel. I just give her a quick wipe over though, anything that doesn't come off after that gets left to soak in or rub over the furniture! Never had any problems with her skin looking sore.

I too just give a quick wipe, she won't let me do any more than that anyway. Maybe she's just a bit sensitive for some reason at the mo.

Here's my top tip - give fromage frais for pudding, which will be plastered all over the face, softening any food left there from the first course and allowing it to be gently wiped away. It works, I promise.

yes, yoghurt also very good for leaving to soak in! What do you use on her bum Ithaca? is her skin ok there?
