Simple finger food suggestions for 8 month old

Hi,

DD is just over 8 months and am just at the 'lumpy' puree weaning stage. I have started introducting finger foods i.e toast fingers, organix carrot sticks, cooked carrot pieces, humous on brown bread pieces, apple pancake pieces.. some she will eat and others just end up on the floor!! Anyone have any other suggestions for things to try that are simple and don't require too much preparation - thanks!

You could try banana, bits of melon, bits of mango, pieces of cooked broccoli, mange tout, cucumber or chopped up tomarto. My daughter also enjoys pasta, potato. We are gradually giving her smaller and smaller items to pick up to perfect her pincher grip.

My 8 month old baby enjoys samon risoles, bits of chicken, homemade meat balls.

It is surprising quite what an 8 month old can eat if they are allowed to self feed.

Baby led is great because the whole family can eat the same meal. All you have to do is to be careful about salt and excessive sugar.

Thanks - the salmon risoles sound tasty.., she has been a bit funny with fish meals so will give them a go..

Mash fish with philadelphia and spread on toast or rice cakes. Bagel is particularly popular with mine.

Jacket or new potatoes (leave skin on, easier to hold) or baked sweet potato.

Mango, pear, avocado, melon all with skin.

Cut disks about 1cm wide of corn on the cob. Baby corn.

Mozzerella I found is good, hard cheese seems to be a difficult texture.

make a tortilla sandwich, by putting cheese between two tortillas, then put it in the frying pan (dry is fine, I don't use oil) and heat both sides, then cut into pizza-like wedges. DD loves these and they're fairly quick to make.
