My health visitor told me 10 months as it is a common allegen. So glad I waited till then too as my ds turned out to be allergic and it was very frightening.

Not that I want to scare you off eggs obviously! I believe it is just better if they are a little bigger just in case.

TheShowMustGoOn · 12/12/2009 18:28

Both mine had scrambed egg and soft boiled eggs from about 6 months.

I'm not sure there is an allergy issue?

Fruitbatlings · 12/12/2009 18:28

It was one of DS1 and 2's 1st weaning foods. Perfect as it's nice and soft but chunky enough to get their little mits around
DS2 didn't like the texture too much at first (6 months) but I just keep offering it to him and now, at 8 months, he really likes it. It's a great source of protein imho.
If your lo doesn't seem to like it, keep trying. Apparently you should try at least 7 times. A friend of mine said 15!

Theshowmustgoon, ds had no allergy issues at the time and no food allergies in the family either. He is just my pfb so i was keen to follow the rules to the letter . I did the whole one food at a time for 3 days thing. It sounds ott I know but I'm glad i did now.

Fruitbatlings · 12/12/2009 18:55

wow! one food at a time for three days, you're good feedthegoat! I think mine had one food at a time for three minutes

feedthegoat · 12/12/2009 19:03

I was all keen to be good back then fruitbatlings! I used to make all my own food and he used to eat all kinds of wierd and wonderful things. He now refuses to eat anything other than Chicken Nuggets, Pizza, Spag Bol and Ham sandwiches and I've lost the will to argue the toss. I 'm hoping he'll grow out of it before he's 25 He eats a montain of fruit and veg mind and is fit and well so I take the more relaxed approach now!

Fruitbatlings · 12/12/2009 19:27

hahaha, I was the same for DS1, well, while I was thinking about weaning anyway. I had great plans which unfortunately fell by the way side once weaning began but I'm soooo incredibly lazy. I'm convinced that's why he's so damned fussy.
I've gone for the BLW approach for DS2 and, so far, will eat practically anything I give him but he's only 8 months old so I'm sure it will change soon....
