Would it be stupid and dangerous to put a booster seat on a bar stool?

We have a breakfast bar with gas lift stools. I do have the white ikea high chair but it would be nice for all the kids to sit together and obviously the high chair isn't high enough.

With DS1, we had one of these clip on ones which is festering full of mould in the shed.

I fancy getting a more sturdy bar stool like so and then using one of those tie on things.

What do you think? Could it be more likely to tip back?

Would it not be more efficient to buy a new clip on one that you are comfortable with than an expensive stool you wonder is safe enough?

It would, but as we only have 2 stools, if I bought a further two I could sit with the children as could visitors.

We do, and DD has survived. However we do attach it round a table leg with a bungee. When DD was just weaning I would put her in the middle of the kitchen while I cooked (seat had a tray) - I loved having her up at a more adult level. Stopped doing that once she was big enough to try 'rocking' the chair

If you will need stools anyway then I why not (other than worry about safety)

Lionstar, we haven't got a leg to bungee it around, it is like the other side of the worksurface really. I will probably buy more stools anyway and buy a nice shiny new clip on highchair.

Do you think the height makes it more likely to tip than a normal chair or am I just imagining things?

I think it is more likely to tip, though getting chair with well-splayed legs will help - but they take up more room. DD can rock hers, and when up to the table has been known to push back with her legs - hence the bungee. I wouldn't use it without some way of making sure it can't tip.
