DS loves all forms of egg... but not sure how much i should be giving him at his age (10.5mths)? he would happily eat cheesy omelette every day but i am pretty certain that wouldn't be good for him! anyone know the guidelines on this?

there is no limit on eggs for anyone. From the food standards agency:

There is no recommended limit on how many eggs people should eat. Eggs are a good choice as part of a healthy balanced diet. But remember that it's a good idea to eat as varied a diet as possible. This means we should be trying to eat a variety of foods each week to get the wide range of nutrients we need.

Eggs are a good source of:

?protein
?vitamin D
?vitamin A
?vitamin B2
?iodine

My DD is 15 months. Since we started weaning egg has been once of her primary foods as she was not hugely keen on meat and I feel it's important she has some protein every day. Now she does eat a bit more meat but she has an omelette or scrambled/poached egg at least every 2-3 days, sometimes every day if there's not much else in the house. If we ever get a garden I want a chicken.

If you're worried about the cheesy omelette not giving him a balanced diet, just add some tomatoes, baby spinach, mushrooms or onions, maybe a little bread or potato on the side, and bingo - all food groups covered!
