BLW - still very little going down at 7 months

Just want to find out if this is normal. I don't think she's that hungry - but its still better for her to be filling up on milk at this age isn't it?

thanks

We're pretty much in the same boat. My daughter is 29 weeks, and will literally vacuum yoghurt off a spoon, and makes a reasonable go at fruit, but appears to be a vegetable hater. I am trying not to get wound up about it, on the basis that she seems content and satisfied, but I will be happier once she's managing to eat more!

I really wouldn't worry, my ds1 was a great eater, I didn't go down the blw route but did give finger food etc from quite a young age, however ds2 was completely different, I gave homemade puree's which he didn't want, shop bought jars which again he didn't want, I then tried blw which he didn't take to, went back to jars, he ate well for about a week, he didn't even really like his bottles at one point! We had a week of not eating anything but yoghurt about 3 weeks ago then 2 weeks ago on a friday afternoon he went mad for a tomato and hasn't looked back, he is eating and drinking milk for England, and will eat pretty much anything I give to him, I have to be honest though he is not fully blw as I give lots of it to him on a spoon which he is willing to accept, but all of it is "real food" and what me and ds1 eat. He's now almost 9 months by the way!
Anyway after my long ramble, what I'm trying to say is that don't worry, milk is really all they need at this age, just keep offering and they will eat when they are ready!

Thanks both. Yes she loves yogurt - i load the spoon and she puts it in, but I have avoided feeding much else on a spoon and am wondering if this is just holding her back too much. She has things like roasted veg, avocado, pita/toast with houmous, mashed potato, cheese. But she gets bored pretty quickly and I don't think swallows that much . Should I just stick it out?

She has refused breakfast and lunch today. Is it likely I am giving her too much milk? She is bf on demand mostly (has formula at childminder and occasional topup at home)?

thanks

Jasper - we're pretty much in the same boat here. DD (8 months next Sun) has had a mix of BLW and purees (basically purees because she seemed hungry and 6 months and finger food not going in quick enough). Now she's got to the stage where she prefers finger food, but because of intolerances, we're being really careful what to give her, so she's mostly still on a diet of fruit and veg (although had a good go at some dry cornflakes with her fingers this morning) and lots of bfing. LisaJasper - is good to hear that your DS2 has turned a corner at 9 months. I am at a loss with DD, as DS was such a good eater (really didn't realise how good we had it with him, although we were amazed that he would pretty much eat anything we offered him - if I recall, butternut squash was the only thing he turned his nose up at).

Jasper - here's to our little ones getting a preference for food at some point :-)

Still really not into mealtimes at all. I wonder if I am feeding her too much milk (she is mix of bf and ff)? At what point should I worry?

My DD is 13 months and still not that interested in solid food. I'm not sure if I'm doing 'proper' BLW, I haven't read the book, but I give her a mix of finger foods and occasional purees. The finger foods often get thrown to the cat (ever see a cat eat shredded wheat? ), the purees sometimes get eaten but the only thing she never turns down is fromage frais. I am still BF the rest of the time. My HV told me not to worry as long as she's putting on weight and is healthy but if you are worried I would talk to your HV.
