Hello

I've just started weaning ds2, i'm still breastfeeding, but i know i've got to offer a drink with little meals, do i still need to boil the water first? I did with ds1, (for about the first year) but i'm not sure if i was being over cautious.

Any help appreciated

I'm not at the weaning stage yet, but my HV told me to boil any water I give my daughter for the first year...

I gave DS1 tap water from 6mo, he seems to have survived

From six months old water does not need to be boiled.
They don't need it if you're breastfeeding on demand though.
It took DS six weeks before he could lift the cup anyway.

I give DS tap water - have done since we started weaning at 6mo. I didn't know you had to give cool boiled (I think it is recommended) and now I can't be bothered to do it . He's still alive and loving his water!!
