9 month old not interested in solids

DD3 never seems intrerested in any solid food. Outright refuses any purees but sometimes nibbles on steamed veg, cheese, grilled chicken but it really is only a nibble. She tries to feed all night, only sleeps for 20min without me next to her and constantly tries to feed throughout the day. I've now started back at work for 4hrs a day and she will take a little formula but refuses to eat and pretty much screams the whole time unless she has fallen asleep whilst out for a walk. Does anyone have any ideas as we're getting to the end of our tether!

Sounds tough. DS1 didn't really eat any solids until he was about 11m but he wasn't feeding that often. I guess the not eating solids isn't a problem in itself yet but I'm not sure what to suggest about the continuous feeding, sory. I hope someone else has some more useful advice.

My 8 month old is really fussy about solids too - sometimes the only way I can get her to eat anything is to put a bit of food (squashed baked bean / bit of banana / etc) on the end of my finger and put it in her mouth! If I revert to the spoon she refuses it but if I use my finger she takes it again!! I read that using a variety of different utensils (eg wooden spoon / spatula) to feed them might be more fun for them and encourage them to eat - it didn't work for me but maybe worth trying!

Thanks for your ideas, I thought that she should be eating 3 meals a day by now as DD1 and DD2 were. I've also constantly got my grandmother (who looks after DD2 and DD3 whilst I'm in work) telling me that it's not right she should be eating much more. And when someone is constantly going on at you you start to question yourself. She also believes that the reason why DD3 has only 3 1/2 teeth at the age of 9months is because I'm not feeding her properly

I thought that too, I was really worried that DD1 wasn't eating enough, but then I realised that my nephew who's 3 years old only eats a few mouthfuls at a lot of meals and he's still absolutely fine even though he's a lot older. I think every child is different and as long as they're happy and growing okay then we shouldn't waste energy worrying! Last night DD1 refused her dinner yet again so I just left her playing with a plate full of grated cheese, chopped up broc and bread etc for ages - she threw a lot of it on the floor but every now and again she shoved a handful in her mouth so at least I got something in her, think I might carry on doing that technique for a while!

Only 3 and half teeth? That's not anything to worry about AT ALL either, some babies don't even grow first one till 10 months! 6 to 10 months for first tooth is the usual range apparently. My DD1 only has 2 teeth and she's coming up to 9 months. My friend's girl didn't get her first tooth until she was 14 months old!

10 month old DS was like this until a few weeks ago.
We cracked the nights and he miraculously started eating well during the day. DS kept feeding all night too. Ab=nd still only has 2 teeth!
