Can I use formula to make cheese sauce?

Have been attempting to wean dd2 from bf to formula for the last couple of months now with little success - she has just dropped the feeds where I offer formula, have a feeling she will just drop milk altogther when I stop bf so am thinking of ways to get formula into her - can I make cheese sauce with it as this is something she'll eat? Thanks.

yes - good idea!

how old is she? does she need formula getting into her? i don't understand. if she's over 6 months she can just have cow milk in cheese sauce. if you're giving bm for some milk feeds then can you not do bm for all milk feeds?

Yes, also puddings, smoothies and white sauce.

Yep, I've done this. Just make it up in a jug pint at a time and make a sauce as you would with normal milk. How old is she?

If you are giving a varied diet and fortified cereals, plus yogurts, cheese and plenty of green veg to eat you might not need to worry too much about the formula intake although obviously it's important. Does she like cows milk? Try the formula quite warm too and in a cup she might take it as a drink then.

It does work but does for some reason make it harder to make it smooth...

dont know how or why .. just know it was a lot harder than with cows milk!

Or try cartons of formula milk for sauces etc. Bit more convenient.

She's 7 and half months. Am trying to wean her off bf as would like to stop soon. She doesn't like cereal but will eat yogurt, cheese etc. She currently has bm at night and first thing and two formula feeds during the day but she barely touches them and quite happily goes all day without them - warmed up in a cup. Am just worried that once I stop bf altogether she'll have hardly any milk at all.

I think around this time my dd stopped having 2 milk feeds during the day(one was bf one formula)it suited me so i just started giving her formula in the middle of the day(between lunch and tea)and it worked well for us.She's now 11 months and still having this feed. You probably thought about it already but have you tried different formulas?I know nutritionally they all the same but smell and taste vary a bit.
