blw - what to do when they become fussy?

My 12 month old baby has just gone from eating most things put in front of her to only wanting certain foods. If a meal doesn't contain one of these foods, she just won't eat anything.
Favoured foods are:
grapes, blueberries, peas, scrambled egg, bolognese, pasta, cheese, parsnips, sometimes bread, sometimes rice. Everything else is currently getting thrown.
What should we do - offer meals as normal and if she doesn't eat it, fine? Do we then offer some foods from the preferred list? Or just make sure a days menu contains a preferred food at each meal but then not worry? Or just offer preferred foods mostly with one different thing a day or something? help!
Thank you.

i just keep offering. they do go through phases.
i try and make sure there is at least one thing I know they'll eat but that's it.

ds2 just went through 2 weeks of refusing to eat pretty much any frujit or vegetable. he is now back to normal and scoffing everything. no idea why they do it, but keep offering anyway

thanks thisisyesterday - I will offer a variety as normal then but try and include a food she will eat each time.

I remember reading somewhere that babies are programmed to start rejecting lots of foods (particularly veg) at about the same time they become more mobile and independent - I guess it was nature's way of preventing babies from poisoning themselves by eating everything!

There are also other opinions around them exercising choice and independence.

Regardless, the list of foods you describe is actually quite varied for this age - you need only glance at the 'fussy eater' threads - and appears to have a bit of each food group. Perhaps try fruit juice to bump up their 5-a-day?

Try not to stress. Keep offering other foods alongside the ones she enjoys and try not to make a fuss.

I have to say though, DS has only just, at 3, started to eat foods he rejected at that stage!!
