Hi, Silly question...
Annabel Karmel says you should always grind sweetcorn or use a mouli to get rid of the skin- rather than pureeing, but doesnt say til what age. My DD is 7 months and pretty good with lumps but has no teeth yet. When do you think I can give her sweetcorn without having to buy a grinder or mouli?

Get the cob, ook it, cut it up so he can hold it in his hands and leave him to it! Any indigestible bits will just come out the other end. They can have anything now apart from honey I believe. Don't spend money on mouli/grinder

I never did use a mouli or grinder. I never owned one. DD got sweetcorn, along with peas, pretty much from the start - generally as finger food and to help with fine motor skills

Likewise. Sort of to help with fine motor skills but also to help with mummy too lazy/busy/knackered to grind skills.

We did Baby Led Weaning and DD had sweetcorn from the very start, but that was as a whole cob, sliced lengthways so it was easier for her to hold and knaw on. No teeth made no difference!

I'm not sure how you would introduce it if you are spoonfeeding madcharlie unless they are used to lumps that size. With BLW the baby has to put its own food in its mouth, so they are less likely to gag. I'm afraid I don't have experience of spoonfeeding.

didnt even no what blw was my babt would go hungry i think if left to feed himself

Madcharlie you'd be surprised!
Sorry, I wasn't being very helpful, I wasn't saying you should do BLW, but sweetcorn fits in really well if you do.
I suppose it would be ok in spoon feeding when you are introducing lumps?
