I'm not even sure this is the right topic, but it'll do.

Try to give as much detail.

DS (10 months) had rotavirus about 3 weeks ago. During that time he just mainly breastfed. I had been giving him a bottle of formula at night as I'm pregnant and very sick. Since then, he's being sick every day, usually after a feed. I was out and DH gave him a bottle, within 5 minutes of finishing, he had brought back the entire bottle. We thought maybe reflux?

I have cut out bottles now and just bf. Solid food wise, he is blw so most of it ends up on the floor! but he does eat a fair bit.

Yesterday, he refused breast a few times, didn't eat anything other than a sandwich. Todays he's had just 6 spoons of porridge and half a bf. He has done 1 wee, but it's very dark, no poo for a few days. He latches on for a few mins but then comes off. It's like he's too tired to feed? He has been drinking some water, but not a great deal.

He's a bit lethargic, was quite floppy and uninterested but still seems happy. Have tried to encourage him to eat anything, but no biscuits/yogs/ nothing will tempt him.

He is sleeping loads in the day, about 4 hours and sleeps 11pm-7am thru the night.

He has 3 teeth coming through the top at the same time, his first teeth.

He is struggling, as we speak to do a poo, but nothing is happening.

I know I need to go the dr, but they are really useless and will probably prescribe ABs or something stupid, so I need to go armed with some knowledge, Can anyone shed any light, or give advice?

TIAx

go to the GP or A&E. He could be dehydrating. The sooner he gets seen by the doctor the easier the treatment. My DD had an ear infection once and probably I could have saved her the AB treatment if I had thought that her excessive grumpiness and refusal to eat solids was something to worry about.

Whatever it is, I don't think it's related to his teething.

and go as soon as possible.

Agree with Tortilla - this is not the time to mess about. Your baby sounds quite poorly.

Well, we went to the (useless) dr earlier. I was quite surprised actually, the receptionist was great and said to come in straightaway!

Dr said there wasn't much I could do, was doing everything right. Gave me a prescription of diarolyte() after I told him that he was refusing liquids! He did check his tummy though and a few other bits, but was a waste of time. Have to go back on fri if he's no better! I did ask him when to panic and take him to A&E, but he said he would be fine!

DD1 however, seems to have come to the rescue. She had an ice lolly and Ds grabbed it so she shared it with him! Not the best thing to have, but at least he has had some liquid and sugar. He has also had a yoghurt. DH trying him on water now.

Thanks for your help. Feel a bit better now. Will go and freeze my breast milk in my ice lolly makers! See if that works!!

lol good luck,TBH i would feed him whatever he will eat,the more fluids the better,
its not going to do any harm to give him what he want for a week or 2 untill he (and you) are feeling a bit better,

I'm glad he's taking more fluids now. Good idea about making breast-milk lollies. I'm not a doctor but the diarolyte is probably a solution with a few minerals so that he rehydrates more quickly, I would give it to him.
