how to introduce meat when weaning - BLW or puree, don't mind?

My DD is underweight, 6mo and weights 5.48kg so not quite doubled her birth weight of 2.8kg.

Am trying to get going with weaning, she has been doing well with banana, sweet potato, baby rice, apple banana rice puree gummed off a banana and has sucked various fruits. HAve sadly done what I said I wouldnt and only given sweet things to start - how do I get going with savoury stuff, meat in particular? was going to make a cheese sauce with rice powder, milk and cheese, mixed with pasta, and then poach some chicken and mix together? rice powder, chicken and broth together? she's not coping brilliantly with lumps so will have to take it slowly but don't want to leave it too long. sausages? any thoughts apprecieated. Just don't want her to have a phobia of lumps as I've seen with many other babes - am mashing as well as offering smooth stuff. Just want some good veg/meat combos. Wd rather cook myself than use jars.

chicken/beef casserole (meat and some veg cooked together) and either mash or puree a bit? pasta with bolognese sauce - again you can blitz it or leave it a bit lumpier.

Very slow cooked beef casserole - eg shin is really meltingly soft - will mash, or you could let her stick her hands in it. dd ate roast chicken and things like slow cooked lamb shanks happily enough with her hands at 7 months-ish.

Sausages I'd steer clear of while she's this wee - they tend to be quite salty. Most meat dishes you eat can either be modified (mashed/blended) for her, or offered as they are.

Pork (roast or fried fillet) has been a hit with A - cut a stick 3in long, 1/2 in wide, and he shoves one end into his mouth and munched for abouthalf an hour leaving a bit of white connective tissue. Bit like a chew toy with nutrients!

Rump steak not so good, think the pieces I gave were a bit floppy.

Cheesy mash is A's fave dinner so far - add little chunks of mild cheddar to chunks of squash/sweet potato, 20 secs in microwave, mash with fork until all doughy and it's then cool enough to eat.

He didn't like mashed-up meat-filled tortelloni but think he was too tired to deal wth lumps. Can you tell that baby meals are also leftovers round here?

I would start with a casserole - whatever veg you've already given - or any if you're not fussed about one thing at a time so fry some onion in olive oil, then add pieces of chicken - one breast will do, then cubes of swede, carrot, sweet potato etc then some boiling water (dont arse around with 'baby stock') then just simmer it for about 30-40mins then whizz to whatever consistency.

For blw type meats my dds first fave was liver (lambs) fried in strips for 2 mins. Weird but true.

I mix fried mince into mashed/pureed veg for DS (nearly 7 months). Tonight was mince withe swede, carrot and spud. Have also blended sausage and mash for him, which he adored!
