www.babyledweaning.com for the blog. Argh about facts and figures - can't remember. Started dd at a wedding! She had some tomato, broccoli and cooked peach. And entertained everyone at the table...

Signs are (iirc)
Sitting up unaided
Loss of tongue-thrust reflex
Ability to pick up something and get it to the mouth.

Think there are more but I can't remember!

They get to 6 months, you chuck some of your food at them. They eat it (or not) as they please. Somewhere along the line you scatter cutlery on their highchair tray too, then add a bowl.

You try not to worry about how much they eat or smear around.

You need: an Antilop highchair from Ikea. A jet washer and a dog (labrador preferred). Actually the last two are a joke, but it can get messy - so a long sleeved bib and a shower curtain (to cover the floor) are very helpful
