DD mainly eats what we eat, but sometimes not always practical if we want something more challenging/fancy for lunch or dinner or the timing is off.

Anyway, I'm running out of ideas for these occasions, and resorting too much to pasta/ragu type stuff.

She self-feeds pretty competently, but I could probably use a book aimed at this age from a nutrition point of view along with a bit of inspiration in general.

Ideas or links please?

DS is just over a year - generally I'll keep a portion for him to eat the next day, of whatever we have for tea (as our timing is out too with DH getting back after 7.30). As long as whatever you're eating has lots of veg in, good fats and a good source of meat, I'd make the most of introducing your DD to lots of different foods, what you like to eat.

DS will have for e.g. chilli con carne, stirfry (tip would be to make noodles the day before and stirfry the veg and meat on the day as it doesn't reheat well), shepherds' pie, casseroles, bangers and mash... etc?

i used 'everyday eating for babies and children' by judith wills. Has some good meal ideas as well as thorough info on nutrition. Much more practical than Annable Karmel IMO.

Yes, I generally do the leftovers thing, but it doesn't always work. Particularly if DH and I lapse into 'sod it' mode when we're working, and that's where the veg takes a back seat. Sufficiently motivated to get DD sorted at 6pm though!

Will have a look at Judith Wills as AK can be a fiddly lady... 'tis true

enraha, sometimes if what we've had is a bit sparse of veg, I'll just ping in the microwave a frozen veg mix of peas, carrots, broccoli, etc (soooo easy) and offer that as well.

Hi. I got this book from Amazon here. Its lovely, very clear, lots of good nutritional advice, bits about fussy eating, weaning etc. I can't wait to use the recipes for my LO.
