What does your 10 month old eat?

DS, 10 months, has porridge and fruit for breakfast, protein (e.g. chicken casserole) and yoghurt for lunch then veg and fruit for dinner. He drinks water with meals and breastfeeds 4-5 times in 24 hours. I still puree/mash most his foods but give him finger foods as well (rice cakes, crudites, fruit, toast etc) as if I gave him just finger food he would barely eat anything as he tends to chew for a minute then drop it on the floor. Bit worried that this is a bit boring and I need to start being more adventurous. Also, is it ok to still puree/mash his food at this age? What do you give your DC?

My DD is 9 months and she has similar except for lunch I give her meat (or other protein - fish/ lentils) and veg puree with some type of lumpy carbohydrate (rice, small pasta shapes, couscous) and then toast or small sandwiches and yogurt or fruit puree for tea.

Having looked at her nursery menus I think I am on the right lines although I am aware that her food should be lumpier.

Have started to give her slices of banana and small sticks of cheese as finger foods as well. Grated apple is good and pieces of tomato and cucumber, steamed veg is also something I keep meaning to try. She doesn't always accept these though so it is all about persistence at the moment.

I have also made rice pudding for her though she was not at all sure about lumpy pudding, even though she loves rice in savoury foods.

Can NOT get her to drink any water though. She doesn't seem dehydrated though so I imagine she is getting enough from her milk. I keep giving her a cup though to get her used to it and she uses it as another teething aid so not a total waste of time!

Maybe read up about baby lead weaning for ideas for 'lumps'. It helped me get over my anxiety about giving her things I thought she might choke on even though I didn't go down that route myself.

my dd is nealry 9 months and is almost eating family foods - the night before last she had spag bol. So breakfast is normally porridge, lunch is lamb casserole or fish and mash etc - mashed and defrosted food anyway then dinner is usally what we are having with some toast - so sometimes potato wedges or rice and mince or sweet potato wedges...most things can be adapted for them I think.

thanks all. DOn't think we're doing too badly by the sounds of it.
