Stopping breastfeeding at 6 months

Hello, my DD is now 6 1.2 months and I really want to stop BFing but its proving hard as she has never taken to using a bottle and she doesn't seem very keen on a cup either. Have tried with both breast milk and formula. i have started her on purees which she doesn't seem to mind but not very much seems to go in. She is a a really healthy weight so not worried about her being hungry (although she does she seem to be eating a lot at the moment). I should probaly add that she got her teeth early (front top & bottom by 6 months) so I don't think this helps. On top of this I have to go back to work really soon (only 2 days a week) so the pressure is really on! Feeling so stressed about it all!

My DS has taken to a breast type bottle from Mothercare ' breast flow' - expensive though.

Not much help but I tried this (I had it in my diary as the day I had to get to before giving up etc) and then dd2 would have none of it, it took until she was 9 mths to get her to give up. You'll find she'll gradually come round to the idea as you start weaning her onto solids. Don't stress I"m sure they pick up on it. With dd1 I found that if we cuddled up and I just let her play with a bottle and then gradually guided it near her mouth she was ok about it - i.e. as long as she took the decision to put it in her mouth rather than me trying to do so for her.

DS is 6.5 months also and would never take a bottle. We've found that he loves water from a tommee tippee sippy type beaker (one with a flip up free flowing spout) and i also managed to get him to take some milk from there the other day - may be worth a try it was only abpout 80p at the supermarket! (also slightly less messy than a cup!!!)
