Sodium Content in food

OK so my DD is 7 months and is on half puree and half finger food... I want to start introducing things like pesto and hummous to see if she likes stronger flavours but I'm worried about the sodium content... I know the BLWers say from 6 months they can eat whatever we do but do others eye up the sodium content of foods with worry?

those things are fine in small quantities.

However, humous is certainly easy to make from scratch. Fry a couple of cloves of garlic in a saucepan. Rince and add a tin of chickpeas with around half a tin or so full of water and the juice of one lemon. Heat gently for about 5 minutes and puree with a heaped teaspoon of tahini (sesame seed paste that you can get from places like holland and barratt). Add more water if required. DS loves it and you can freeze in small portions. Takes about 10 minutes start to finish.

I do! Make it all yourself, then you will know what's in it! I think it's the only way really. Then be a bit more relaxed at 12 months.
