Questions re BLW my 6 month old

I am ok I think with the basics but I have an extra couple of questions:

Toast

We eat wholegrain bread (warburtons with the purple bag) is that ok to toast for him? Is there any bread he shouldn't have? What do you put on toast? Thinking banana? What about butter? Do you leave the crusts on?

Got given a packet of Hipp organic baby porridge but was shocked to see how much sugar and other things are in it. Can I just get normal fine porridge oats that DH would eat?

Shredded wheat bite size seem good. Was planning on dunking in a bit of milk first. Is cow's milk ok? In fact is cow's milk ok for all cooking such as pancakes as long as his main milk feeds are still formula?

Is there any benefit to moving onto the next stage of formula for 6 months plus? Also, Hipp have a good night drink with oats in it - anyone used this before? Again, I have been given a tub of this Hipp stuff.

I intend giving natural yoghurt with some fruit puree mixed through. Is it ok just to load a spoon and see what he does? The mess doesn't bother me!

Many thanks for your help.

So far I have a fabulous video of DS sucking away at a piece of brocolli but he's just taking it nice and slowly!

Toast sounds fine - that's what i do. I heard that they should not have too much bran (i make branny bread) but she eats so little I have decided not to worry. I put homous and phildephia on it and she loves it. banana falls off in my experience

DD shares porridge with me. baby porridge seems like a scam

cows milk is fine as long as it is not their main milk source (i.e. should drink boob or bottle)

next stage formula - no idea

Yoghurt sounds yummy. can try with spoon - or possibly dip something in it like a breadstick or rice cake???

good luck xx

toast: yes but prepare for seedy poo. dd has unsalted butter, Philadelphia or hummus. Mashed banana stays on but stains. Leave crusts on but don't be surprised if he chews round them.

Ready Brek has no added salt or sugar and is quicker than making grownup porridge. Don't shell out for 'baby' cereals.

Shredded wheat bitesize are ace - cover with milk, microwave 20-25sec (test and see) then pour the milk off (into your own cereal, yum ) and serve.

Cows' milk fine in cooking from 6m.

No benefit to next stage formula but you could switch if it is cheaper and you need to save the money.
Oaty goodnight drink is a marketing con.

Load yoghurt spoon and see but he may prefer to go in with his hands

good luck!
