BLW how much attention do you pay to salt intake?

I never add salt to food and make everything dd eats for her main meal myself, but she does have bread, cheese etc. Other than not giving her cheese and some other particularly salty thing on the same day, I've not been worrying about it too much. Wondered if others keep a proper note of each day's salt intake and if I should be more careful?

I never bothered, tbh.

i think it's pretty important, but as you say if you make things from scratch in some places you can be a bit more lax in other areas. I make my own bread so that I don't need to be worried about using up the whole day's quota in bread, so DS can eat more interesting things, e.g. like eat some of my cajun wedges for lunch!

i don't keep a note of it, but like you I pretty much never add salt to anything.

I didn't keep a note of it, but was aware of what most things had by way of salt so could judge it per day and not give too many salty things on the same day.

Always buy Lo-Salt, though. Every supermarket stocks it. It has a third the sodium of ordinary table salt, which I find too strong these days.

You also have to consider whether you have a sweaty child or not. My boy's a sweater, so I give him a small modicum of Lo-Salt on home-prepared food just to keep him from cramping.
