Hello and thanks for reading!

how do you stop your Beaba babycook leaking water everywhere?

have just been trying to use mine for the first time and it has all gone horribly wrong; puddles of water all over kitchen, plasters on three fingers after slicing myself with the blade...

i just don't understand how to prevent the cooking water from leaking from the hole at the bottom of the plastic jug bit. i know there is a sort of seal from the "gasket" under the blender blade but it is not watertight and the blade is not locked in position like with normal blenders, it just sort of rests on top, so if anything nudges it (e.g. the food) then water can leak out. it even leaks out during steaming. does this make sense? i don't think i am missing any parts and this is starting to drive me mad now!!!!!!

Thank you
x

No, gasket on top of hole AND famous black bit screwed on underneath.

where do you live?? maybe I could do a live demo?

I seem to remember having terrible problems getting it together in the beginning if any consolation

oh ok have seen your last post. the black thing does not stay atachged to my jug!!! so i need to somehow attach it to the grey bit poking through the hole at the bottom of the jug? hmm... will have a go!

(thank you so much! am sure you have so many better ways of spendig your time than helping out my incompetent self on this!!!)

YES YES!!

Dont worry, I am at home today revising for a really boring exam so this is exactly the kind of dictraction technique I need!

sauterelle · 02/12/2008 15:53

ok i am CERTAIN my black bit is wrong. there is no way it can screw on underneath. the hole in the middle of the black bit (a circular hole) is much bigger than the hexagonal shape of the grey bit. So it is in my opinion an impossible task to attach them!

(am in NW London by the way!)

got to go and pick up dc now - back this evening - let me know how you get on, good luck!!

is quite hard to screw on but if you fiddle with it (change alignment) it eventually goes on and magically secures everything

xfabba · 02/12/2008 15:56

it looks the same in your photo ie hole about as big as your thumb. screws onto grey bit of blade apparatus poking through hole with hexagonal hole in middle.

i am in south london if you fancy a drive round M25 to look!

sauterelle · 02/12/2008 16:03

I have just checked the box and there are two tiny little pieces of black plastic at the bottom! They have snapped off the middle of the black thing meaning it cannot attach! So it is the black thing!
Thank you so much for your help, I will write to them and ask for a new black thing.
good luck with your revision!
Thanks
Sarah

Blooming hell! I missed a lot of excitement whilst i listen to three DC sob solidly for 1.5hrs!!!!

Glad the problem is semi solved. I was going to offer to send my black bit, but figure I really ought to sell the whole machine to someone!

xfabba, you are fab!

I am joining as I have the same problems. Got a 3 months old Beaba baby cook (got it on Amazon) and now after washing it (I have used it many times) all the parts fell apart and I have no idea what is the right order to put them back. Help?

learnedb · 26/07/2014 10:19

I know this is an old post but I'm sure others will experience this problem. After washing ours this morning the rubber gasket came off the blades part.

We discovered that it is far from obvious how it should be reattached. Look at your instructions very carefully and you will see that there is a small diagram with no labelling. You just need to match what you see exactly.

Take just the blades part and put the gasket onto the plastic shaft with the skirt part facing away from the blades. It's a tight fit and tricky. Only then put the blades part in the blender bowl and attach the nut (or "black bit") on the other side. It will click into place perfectly.
