Cream - the squirty stuff

Can my DD have a small dollop of this on her fruit for pudding?

I've always been of the mindset of anything I eat she can eat as long as no salt or honey but for some reason I'm wary of squirty cream.

Tell me I'm being silly.

Don't know, but would like to know for future!

Is it jsut a one off or a regular thing? If it is just a one off then I would do it.

Saying that I have no idea what is in it really (i don't eat it anyway). I let my DD eat most things if it is a one off.

It wouldn't be regular but it wouldn't be a one off - I'd say maybe a couple of times a month kinda thing. Its just she's getting bored of just fruit so am trying to make it tastier so she'll still eat it.

I wouldn#'t give it to my dc because it is delicious and full of shit, and they would winge and winge until they were allowed to have it three times a day. This is the ingredients list from Anchor Real Dairy Cream Light;
Cream (95%), sugar (4%), emulsifier (mono- and diglycerides of fatty acids), Stabiliser (carrageenan), propellant gas: nitrous oxide.
Why don't you whip up a bit of double cream with some sugar instead?

MinkyBorage · 26/11/2008 16:38

how old is your dd btw?

LuckySalem · 26/11/2008 16:47

she 10 months. will see whether the non cooker can make something like that instead then

Things like that tend to have horrible ingredients, and I reckon you'll be fine with a homemade alternative.
I'm not adverse to sugar at all, but I think it's a good idea to avoid giving it to them when so young. If you can get her to enjoy unsweetened fruit at this age then it will be brilliant for her in the long run . Why don't you just try pouring a little cream on her fruit for a few weeks to see if she likes it more. If you do decide to give her something sweetened, you whisk up some double cream you could a dd a little sugar or even better maple syrup
I talk as someone with two dc, one eats lots of fruit no probs, the other eats a slice of apple every few days, just doesn't really like fruit, but it's better that they eat fruit with sweeteners than non at all.
