What do you give a 6 month old for tea?

My dd is nearly 6.5 months and we have been weaning for about 3 weeks and she is loving her food! Typically she has some kind of porridge/baby cereal for breakfast, vegetable medley/chicken casserole type thing for lunch but I'm getting stuck on what to give for tea and alternate between more vegetables or toast fingers and a yogurt. Just wondered what you all give please??

Another twins mum I'm afraid .
DD will pick up anything and have a go: DS, not a chance! He just pokes them with a finger and screws his face up. BLW people will hate me but I can't be doing with it. My children need to eat properly and at the mo if they fill their tummies at the same time, they sleep at the same time.
A favourite was mashed up peas and spinach with philidelphia. In fact phillie makes most food they initially don't like pallatable!
Another instant food was couscous with mashed avocado (a bit of low salt/homemade ketchup if feeling naughty).

I use baby rice to make them eat stuff! Will have to try Phillie.

Oh b**r to BLW! I can get things like bread, rice cakes, pitta etc into little one but bits of chicken or roast beef to suck on, forget it! Also, she won't actually eat it, therefore not filling her up one bit and this does impact on her sleep and, I'm sorry, but with 3 to run around I need to get some kind of decent sleep or else it impacts on everyone else as I become seriously grumpy!
goingfor3 hello!! Here we are again then, weaning number 3!! I have just ordered your book suggestion as I'm sure my brain has finally given up working and I cannot assemble any decent recipe myself anymore! I need a little book to give me lots of nice recipes to freeze.
neenztwinz I remember you from the same thread as goingfor3! Sounds like you are doing an amazing job producing very healthy meals and running around after twins, wow!
And cous cous, what a great idea, always have that floating around in the cupboard. Am off to cook and mash!
Thanks ladies.

Don't feel guilty for wanting sleep!

goingfor3 · 26/11/2008 12:07

Hi Janus, I hope you like the book - will feel really guilty if you don't!!!!

goingfor3, it arrived from Amazon today, they're so quick, I love them! It looks great and I'm already writing my shopping list in the kitchen for new recipes to try. I really like the clear layout and simple (ie not Annabel Karmel type, 6 million ingredients!) it's right up my street!
Thanks again!
